Operasional Penerbangan Jemaah Haji Indonesia Mulai Lancar
Tensions between Iran and Israel recently caused concern regarding the smooth operation of flights carrying Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. However, Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, has given assurance that the flight schedule has returned to normal.
The apprehension arose as tensions escalated in the Middle East, particularly after the attack in Doha, Qatar. Two Hajj groups travelling from Jeddah to Surabaya were delayed, prompting worries about potential disruptions.
"We were worried about this precisely. The attack on Doha (Qatar), it veers towards instability, which could cause some disruption," explained Minister Nasaruddin, as reported by the Ministry of Religious Affairs website on Wednesday (June 25, 2025).
Nasaruddin further explained that the flight routes for pilgrim aircraft passing through the Middle East region had to undergo adjustments. This resulted in at least one flight experiencing a delay from its original schedule. The good news is that the situation is now under control.
"But I heard today that things have started running smoothly again. Hopefully, it remains that way. Let us all pray for a better situation," he added.
The Minister made an appeal to all Indonesians to join in prayer for the safety and smooth completion of Hajj pilgrimages, particularly for those currently in the return phase.
"I hear that the planes around Qatar are already passing through. Hopefully, everything continues to run smoothly. We ask for your prayers," he concluded.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs continues to maintain close coordination with aviation authorities and airlines to ensure all Hajj flights proceed safely and on time. They are also closely monitoring global geo-political developments.
